Andrew Takyi-Appiah is the co-founder and Managing Director of Zeepay Ghana Limited, bringing over 18 years of extensive experience in banking, business development, and mobile payments. He is a recognized expert in the financial services industry, with a proven track record in leading strategic initiatives and driving growth across diverse markets.

Andrew’s career spans both banking and marketing, having held key leadership roles such as Head of Retail Banking, Head of Corporate Banking – Manufacturing Business, Head of Transaction Banking, General Manager for Strategy, and General Manager for Business Performance. Prior to his banking career, he served as Brand Manager for NESCAFÉ, gaining invaluable insights into consumer engagement and market dynamics. He has also led business development and strategic consulting efforts for a Big Four consulting firm.

Throughout his career, Andrew has worked with globally renowned institutions, including the Commonwealth Secretariat, Nestlé, Barclays UK, GT Bank, Ecobank, UT Bank, and PricewaterhouseCoopers. His wealth of experience extends across three continents—Europe, North America, and Africa—having contributed to major retail and financial deployments in over seven African markets, including Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Ghana, Burundi, Zambia, Malawi, and South Africa.

A passionate advocate for financial inclusion and mobile payments, Andrew frequently shares his insights as a guest speaker at international conferences. His thought leadership and deep industry knowledge have positioned him as a key influencer in the mobile payments space.

Andrew is an alumnus of the University of Hull and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
