Jennifer Doherty-Bigara is a Senior climate change specialist at the Inter-American Development Bank, based in Barbados. Her main role consists in advising and mainstreaming climate change policy recommendations in the portfolio with the Government as well as enhancing their impact through strategic initiatives. With over fifteen years of experience in the sustainability agenda, she has mainly focused on climate governance and national and local climate change policies, fiscal policy and green budgeting, climate finance and long-term planning exercises with an adaptation approach. Prior to her current post, she led the IDB portfolio of Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay, from 2016-2019, and from 2019-2021 was at the Agence Française de Developpement (AFD), coordinating the efforts of the Adapt ‘Action Platform in the Gulf of Guinea and the Indian Ocean. Jennifer holds two Master´s Degrees: one in International Development Policy from the McCourt School of Public Policy, University of Georgetown and a second one in International Affairs and Business Strategy from Sciences Po Toulouse.
